IT Minister Asks Mobile Operators to Offer Special Bundle Offers to Facilitate Students

On Wednesday, the MITT requested mobile operators to provide special package deals, in particular for students to lessen the negative effects of Covid-19.

Syed Amin Ul Haque, Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication, chaired an emergency meeting at the Ministry of IT on the handling of the COVID-19 challenges.

Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui, Secretary of IT and PTA Chairman, Major General (Retd.) Amir Azeem Bajwa also attended the meeting. Members of the wireless mobile operators were also present on the occasion.

The Federal Minister announced the IT and Telecommunications Ministry is committed to promote information technology in the country. He said that the role of IT in handling the COVID-19 pandemic, is critical. He said that using IT effectively can help us with online education.

Praising the role of the telecommunications industry, Syed Amin Ul Haque said that Ministry of IT will fully cooperate with the telecommunications industry, adding that all cellular mobile operators’ problems will be addressed. The Federal Minister also asked cellular mobile operators to offer a special package offer, especially for students, to offer a special package offer.

He also stressed the need for collaborative attempts to tackle the corona pandemic.

The CEO of the Universal Service Fund, Haaris Mahmood Chaudhry, members of the Special Communication Organization (SCO), the Frequency Allocation Board, PTCL and senior ministry officers were also present in the meeting.
