B2B portal launched under Indonesia-Pakistan partnership

The first Indonesia-Pakistan Business to Business (B2B) Hybrid Road Show 2021 was conducted by the Punjab Board of Investment & Trade (PBIT), Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Islamabad and e-Commerce Gateway Pakistan Private Limited, who also came together to launch the Indonesia-Pakistan B2B online portal.

Both these resources are intended to provide a platform for the business communities in both countries to better connect and establish commercial ties in multiple industries like health, pharmaceutical, food, agriculture, textile and furniture.

Mian Aslam Iqbal, Punjab Minister for Industries and Trade and Adam Tugio, Ambassador of Indonesia to Pakistan, inducted the B2B online portal.

While speaking at the ceremony, the minister acknowledged the two countries strong relationship as the “largest countries in the Islamic world”, and went on to stress the importance of the Indonesia-Pakistan preferential trade agreement (PTA) in establishing mutually beneficial economic ties between the nations. He also acknowledged that “the level of trade and investment between the two countries has not kept pace with global trends”, and that there is still room to capitalize on the benefits facilitated by the PTA.

The recent initiatives taken by the two countries to promote trade and investments will go a long way in further cementing their economic relationship.
