SimpliFi, a cards as a service platform, launched

SimpliFi, a cards as a service platform, recently launched for the Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan.

The Dubai-headquartered company also recently garnered investment from a seed round led by Saudi Arabia’s Raed Ventures with the additional involvement of Rally Cap Ventures, and Riyadh-based Sukna Ventures.

SimpliFi was founded in 2020 by Ali Sattar, who had previously worked on the Careem Pay program. The startup is looking to make card issuance accessible and more efficient in the region, through its APIs and easy to use portal. Any business, regardless of industry or size, can use SimpliFi’s services to issue virtual or physical cards while also managing the whole operation through their online portal.

Ali Sattar, the founder and CEO of SimpliFi, said in a statement, “prepaid cards are highly versatile with a host of use cases allowing businesses to streamline operations, generate new revenue streams and drive loyalty. Until now, banks have had the exclusivity in issuing cards. We are changing that by empowering every business to become a payments company and participating in the benefits from financial ownership, without the underlying complexities and hassle. The massive impact this can create on the financial services ecosystem in the region inspires us to wake up every day.”
