Telenor Velocity and Google launch Digital HackFair 2.0

Telenor Velocity, Telenor Pakistan’s Digital Accelerator Program, has once again launched its Digital HackFair, in collaboration with Google.

Digital HackFair 2.0 is aimed at inspiring Pakistani developers to create empowering solutions for women in various areas, such as fintech, healthtech, agritech, edtech and cyber security. The HackFair is also a unique opportunity for developers to hone and develop their skills through the provision of mentorship and workshops led by industry experts, which will cover topics like UI/UX, Design Thinking, Product Development, Market and User Research, Data Analytics, and Android.

Khurrum Ashfaque, the Chief Operating Officer at Telenor Pakistan, said, “Pakistan has immense potential and a growing need for digital solutions, and together with Google, we have dedicated this year’s hackathon to solutions that equip women with the tools they need to prosper and empower them to be an active part of the future’s economy.” 

Farhan Qureshi, Google South Asia Director, stated, “It’s an honor to be supporting the developer ecosystem in Pakistan together with Telenor Pakistan. I hope that young innovators who apply to this program will apply the skills they learn through this amazing opportunity on inclusive solutions that can change the world. I’m excited to see what they will create in this hackathon.”
